JOB TITLE Senior Bakery Production Operative JOB DESCRIPTION Responsible for all aspects of the shifts departmental production, including the smooth operation of production and packaging equipment. Allocating and supervising all work activities of the department/plant operating team. Comply with BRC requirements ensuring a clean, hygienic and safe working environment at all times. REPORTING TO: Bakery Production Manager AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: · Site Security during shift · Support Bakery production planning, production reports and stock takes · Supervising production operatives · Deputise for staff if required · Raw material stock control · Label printing, label & packaging stock control · Weighing up, preparing equipment & organising production · Running bakery equipment, ovens and packaging machines · Ensuring products meet data sheet specification · Final product inspection · Production Quality and technical paperwork · Internal & external bakery cleaning, cleaning materials & records · Ensure department workspaces clean & tidy · Documentation relevant to position · Liaising with Managers to help implementing and enforcing company policies and procedures and especially to take responsibility within your own areas and shifts. · Responsible for the control and use of your team members especially leading by example. · Expected to help with the implementation of projects and training in your department, and to assist in achieving our drive towards better efficiencies across the business. · Other duties as required WORKPATTERN: between 2pm – 10pm 90% of time to be spent direct on production activity as required, 10% managerial responsibilities PERSON SPECIFICATION: EDUCATION Sound educational background DESIRABLE HACCP Training Health and Safety Food hygiene level 2 Fork Lift Qualification Ability to lead teams Previous shift management experience ideally with grain/flour based foods EXPERIENCE Good knowledge of manufacturing, food safety and health & safety Ability to work under pressure SKILLS Good Communicator Team Player Numerical/computer skills PERSONALITY Enthusiastic Personable and positive personality Sense of presence Engaging Team player Leads by example Openness, high level of personal integrity
