We are partnered with a leading Algorithmic Trading Firm who are looking to hire a Commercial Counsel to join their growing Legal function, leading on a range of commercial agreements and contracts for their growing business. The ideal candidate will have experience in either a top-tier law firm or In-House counsel, ideally with some exposure to Financial Services/Financial Services Clients. In this role you will work closely with the rest of the legal team as well as with the businesses directly: with traders, business development, product, operations. You will also work on projects with the senior leadership team, such as COO, CEO, etc and have the opportunity to shape templates and approaches that best balance the business growth objectives and risk.
Lead legal-commercial negotiations: draft and negotiate agreements in relation to the various business lines (Trading agreements, Software agreements, Exchange agreements, OTC etc)
•Work closely with the legal and compliance teams to monitor the legal and regulatory landscapes across various business jurisdictions.
•Become actively involved in other legal projects depending on skills, preferences and company needs, including commercial disputes/litigation, employment, and corporate projects.
Circa 2-5 years of experience practicing law (qualified) at a top-tier law firm or as in-house counsel. Financial Services, Fintech or Crypto exposure advantageous.
· Strong grasp of commercial law, with special preference for this relating to financial services.
· Curiosity and interest to learn other areas of law and business quickly
· Proven ability to see the bigger picture and commercial strategy; We support some of the most prestigious organisations in the world, across financial services, commerce & industry, and professional services. We facilitate secondments for senior lawyers into in-house legal departments and law firms, and source specialist lawyers for bespoke projects.
