SEN Teaching Assistant | Primary Role supporting ASD, ADHD, Behavioural Difficulties and SEN | Start now on a year long contract!
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of our up and coming client schools in Harrow. The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant candidate will have a passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs and will provide inclusive and personalised assistance within a mainstream secondary school setting.
SEN Teaching Assistant | About the role:
A SEN Teaching Assistant will work with individual students or small groups to provide tailored support and assistance with academic and social development Collaborate with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), teachers, and other professionals to implement personalised learning plans Create and maintain a nurturing and inclusive environment that supports the diverse needs of students with SEN is a key responsibility for a SEN Teaching Assistant Foster positive relationships with students, offering patience, empathy, and understanding in all interactions Utilise a range of strategies to facilitate learning and engage students with different learning styles and abilities Contribute to the monitoring and tracking of student progress, providing feedback to the teaching team and participating in review meetings. SEN Teaching Assistant | About you:
Prior experience in a SEN support role or a strong interest in working with students with diverse learning needs would be good for a SEN Teaching Assistant A First Class degree from a Top University is mandatory for a SEN Teaching Assistant A strong academic background before a Bachelor's Degree is essential for this role. A SEN Teaching Assistant will be supporting top performing students in various subjects up to GCSE level. A degree in Psychology or a related field is desirable for a SEN Teaching Assistant Knowledge of SEN best practices and strategies for supporting students with additional needs Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with students, staff, and parents A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine passion for making a positive impact on the lives of students with SEN As a SEN Teaching Assistant, your day-to-day activities will involve working closely with individual students or small groups, providing personalised support and guidance. You will collaborate with the SENCO and teaching staff to implement tailored learning plans, and create a nurturing and inclusive environment that supports the diverse needs of students with SEN. Your role will involve fostering positive relationships with students, utilizing a range of strategies to facilitate learning, and contributing to the monitoring and tracking of student progress.
