Abingdon School has an exciting opportunity for 3 Cleaners to join the team. Location: Park Road, Abingdon, Oxfordshire, OX14 1DE Salary: £12.30 per hour Working hours: 05:30 am – 08:30 am / 17:00 pm – 20:30 pm Job Type: Part-Time, Permanent Closing date: Thursday 07 November 2024 (midday) About Us: Abingdon School is a leading independent day and boarding school with around 1000 pupils aged 11-18. The School is situated in 35 acres of beautiful grounds in the centre of Abingdon, just south of Oxford. Cleaner – Role: Abingdon School has vacancies in the housekeeping department. The successful candidate will be punctual and reliable with the ability to manage time effectively to complete tasks to a high level under minimum supervision. Experience in a similar role would be an advantage but is not essential as relevant training will be provided. The following Part-Time shifts are available: - 1 Part Time Cleaner Role - Morning: 05:30 am – 08:30 am (15 hours per week) - 2 Part Time Cleaner Roles - Afternoon*: 17:00 pm – 20:30 pm (17.5 hours per week) *There are two vacancies for the afternoon shift. One to start as soon as possible and one to start 1st February 2025. All shifts are offered on a term time plus basis requiring the postholder to work a total of 38.4 weeks per year. Term time is usually 34 weeks inclusive of INSET days. The additional working days are to be worked during school holidays. Cleaner – Key Responsibilities: - To clean a range of school areas as stipulated within a timescale and to the required standard - To use specialist cleaning equipment such as steamers, carpet cleaners, scrubber dryers and rotary machines in accordance with instructions and after completing additional training. - To carry out deep cleaning of allocated areas as required, for example: at the end of term before term starts and after building works or maintenance tasks. - To ensure that stocks of cleaning products are maintained Cleaner – You: - Able to communicate clearly, understand and follow instructions - Punctual and reliable with a flexible approach - Ability to manage time effectively, prioritise work and complete tasks to a high standard - Ability to work with minimum supervision - The ability to work independently as well as working effectively as a member of a team Cleaner – Benefits: - Wellbeing support through our Employee Assistance Programme, including access to free counselling, financial and legal advice - Free lunch during term-time - Free use of school gym and pool at agreed times - Discounted fitness classes - Free on-site parking and secure spaces for bikes - Discount on children’s holiday camps *Eligibility criteria may apply for some staff benefits Application Process: You will be asked which shift you are applying for during the application process.
