POSITION: PACKAGING TECHNOLOGIST
REPORTS TO: HEAD OF INNOVATION & PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

As Packaging Technologist you'll report to the Head of Innovation and be responsible for all packaging related projects ensuring they are delivered within spec, time, and budget. In this role, you'll work closely with compliance, design, and supply chain to ensure packaging material is innovative, impactful, and meets our ambitious commercial and sustainability goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for managing all packaging projects from initial concept through to launch.
- Identify, mitigate, and flag any potential business risks in relation to packaging and/or the wider PD process.
- Develop our packaging process to ensuring we meet global compliance standards and product functionality and quality standards.
- Assist in guiding artwork processes from brief to signoff
- Work closely with Supply Chain and manage timings for new packaging developments.
- Build & maintain good relationships with our material suppliers, external agencies, and contract manufacturers.
- Take a lead role in sustainability initiatives for Future Beauty Labs and continually research advancements in sustainable packaging.
- Research new market trends globally within beauty and packaging to ensure we continue to innovate and push boundaries within our target categories.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
- 2-3 years working in a packaging technologist/specialist role
- Experienced working in beauty with a good understanding of global packaging regulations
- Experience working on custom pack
- Experience/understanding of quality assurance and testing procedures, in relation to packaging materials
- Excellent Project Management skills - highly organized and able to work on multiple, complex projects simultaneously.
- Able to work in a fast paced and agile environment
- Able to build good relationships across multiple departments
- CAD design skills desirable
- Degree in Engineering, Packaging, Product Design, or similar desirable, but not essential - Diploma in Packaging Technology would be an advantage.
