You will form part of a close-knit team working for an organisation with a growth ethos. The client based for this company is broad and they produce panels to serve sectors such as Food, Manufacturing, Renewables, Oil & Gas, Substations and General Manufacturing. The control panels are used to run machines & equipment in terms of speed, pressure, temperature, heat, etc. THE ROLEAccurate understanding of customer requirements, specifications, designs, and drawingsPreparation and delivery of quotes to clientsActing as the primary contact for customers regarding quotes and their projectsEnsuring the correct and safe design of low voltage control systemsOverseeing specification management and bill of materialsCreating and drafting engineering drawings, including schematics, layouts, and harnessesDeveloping and managing engineering documentation, such as calculations, assessments, manuals, and specifications, as well as technical reports and certifications when neededCollaborating with broader teams to address issues and complete projectsParticipating in production meetings, assisting with commissioning, and providing remote site supportEnsuring the quality of work throughout the processConducting site visits and inspections for projects, upgrades, and modifications as necessaryOrganizing and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines and organizational goalsMaintaining up-to-date and relevant knowledge and skillsUsing expertise and experience to contribute to continuous improvement effortsCompleting tasks thoroughly and ensuring no loose ends remain THE PERSONEssentialAchieving at least an IEng levelAt least 5 years of experience in designing industrial electrical control systemsA minimum of 5 years working with industrial control panels, preferably for heavy-industrial machineryOver 5 years of experience using an electrical CAD software for drafting and drawingAt least 3 years in a customer-facing roleAt least 3 years of experience in producing quotesProficient in specifying components to fulfil design requirementsSkilled in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and diagramsCapable of creating technical and engineering documentation, including technical writingUnderstanding and experience with machinery control systemsAbility to collaborate effectively with wiremen, commissioning engineers, site engineers, management, and the wider teamProficient in using the MS365 suite, including Outlook, Word, and ExcelHolds a Level 3 engineering or technical qualification or has equivalent experiencePossesses appropriate engineering/electrical experience and training, such as an apprenticeship or relevant experienceDesirable/Advantageous Professional registration with the Engineering Council as IEng or CEngExperience with PLC software, including writing and commissioningExperience or qualifications in Functional SafetyExperience with wiring or site installationsExperience in commissioning systems or machineryUnderstanding and appreciation of mechanical engineeringHolds an HNC or degree in Electrical Engineering or a related fieldTO APPLYPlease apply for this position and your CV will go direct to our Engineering Consultant Neil Douthwaite who is leading the search.
