SEMH Sports Coach

A SEMH School in Preston are looking for an individual who can be a perfect role model for pupils who are disengaged with their studies. We are recruiting an individual to work closely with those who have challenging behaviours and social/emotional difficulties. The environment of this SEMH School is unlike that of a mainstream school as it is much more nurturing, pastoral, student focused and personal, giving you the chance to really have an impact and create a relationship with the students. This role will be challenging but highly rewarding seeing the difference you are making to these young peoples lives. Within this environment you will be tasked with the following roles and responsibilities: Provide opportunities to progress academically, socially and emotionally Leading by example as a role model Leading sports and activity sessions Have an understanding of individuals personalities and needs Offer guidance and mentoring Have an understanding/interest in sports Provide a safe environment to learn Deal with any challenging or disruptive behaviour Offer advice and support Develop self-confidence, positive self-image and independence CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS Location - Preston Position - SEMH Sports Coach Type of work - Learning Support Start date - October 2024 Duration / Likely Duration - ongoing until further notice - sickness cover End date (if applicable) - N/A Contract type - Temporary Full time/part time - Full-time Minimum rate of pay - Minimum rate £100 per day Hours - 8:30 am - 4pm TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST: Hold Right to Work in the UK Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application Provide two professional child related references covering the last 2 years If you would like to be considered for this role, please apply with a copy of your up to date CV.
