Job Description Position Breakfast Manager (Hotel) Scope of Work We are a charming boutique hotel with 72 bedrooms, nestled in the heart of Fitzrovia, conveniently located near Tottenham Court Road and Goodge Street tube stations. Currently, we are actively seeking an energetic and enthusiastic professional to take the helm of our Breakfast Team. We are seeking an individual with a strong background in the hospitality industry, preferably within a hotel setting. We value exceptional interpersonal skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a proven track record in managing various aspects of food service, including food preparation, food hygiene, COSHH compliance, food procurement, food quality, and buffet presentation. The ideal candidate for this role would possess prior experience in leadership, particularly in the context of leading a small team. With a passion for food and standards, they should excel in coaching, motivating, and setting a compelling example for their colleagues. Report To Operations Manager/ Hotel Manager Responsible for: Breakfast Team & Night Porters (breakfast training). Main Duties Operational Responsibilities Guest Service To ensure that all the guests receive excellent customer service in accordance with hotel standards. Ensure all tasks/responsibilities delegated to you are actioned daily. Build the necessary skills to perform and organise your duties in the most efficient and proactive manner, therefore providing attentive and prompt service. To be demanding and critical to service standards as well as hygiene standards. Project professionalism, friendliness and helpfulness. Learns guest names and personally recognise our regulars Product To verify constantly that our offerings in all aspects are consistent with the hotel standards. Ensure cleanliness and report any maintenance issues in the workplace to maintenance. Be knowledgeable and train all subordinates in all the SOPs, Risk Assessments, Hygiene standards, products and services that the hotel provides, projecting confidence and professionalism. Ensure not only yourself but your team have full knowledge of all Menu Items. Allocate areas of cleaning on a daily basis fairly, ensuring that high standards of cleanliness are maintained throughout the hotel, with the supervision and inspection of all areas. Order and maintain the correct stocking levels of all consumables, ensuring purchases are in line with the budget Distribute cleaning materials and carry out stocktakes as required Ensure all team members are fully trained in Emergency Procedures and Health and Safety at Work Maintaining strict control of keys Ensure that the food presentation and quality exceed guests expectations and are standard throughout. To be able to use all computer systems. Ensure all required paperwork is filled out, signed and filed in an organised fashion. Manage Holiday requests as per company rules ensuring no more than 1 member of the department is on Holiday at any given time. Ensure all Team Members have all required trainings as per statutory requirements prior to starting work. o Motivate the team in order to achieve the best financial and guest satisfaction results. o To ensure that policies and procedures regarding team presentation and hygiene are enforced. To promote an excellent inter-departmental relationship, communication, and to promote a professional and helpful interaction. Ensure daily attendance at the morning briefing and communicate with the DMs regarding occupancy and arrivals to target (upselling). To delegate responsibilities to direct subordinates, without relinquishing ultimate responsibility. Carry out Annual appraisals with all members of your department along with a flash appraisal Bi-Annually. Assist in other areas of the hotel and its other properties as instructed. Ensure all rubbish and waste is disposed of safely. To ensure payments and accounting procedures are followed by all team members. Ensure all temperature monitors are carried out daily and filled in by the relevant members and report any issues. Ensure Team Lunches are kept within our Budgeted costs. Knowledgeable and Comply with all Statutory Regulations:- o fire and emergency procedures o Hygiene regulations o Health & Safety regulations o safe lifting and carrying techniques o manual handling o use of protective clothing o use of hazard signs o use of detergents and cleaning products o maintenance procedures and quality control o Security procedures Be an excellent people person, showing respect for customs and culture. To prepare the rota ensuring the business requirements are met and ensuring communication with other departments when sharing staff members. Communicate any issues or lateness. Ensure all online and offline are updated correctly. Ensure a bonus schedule has been prepared and sent no later than the 21st of every month for each employee, detailing the weekly performance Personal presentation, punctuality, attitude and initiative.
