Machine Tool Fitter
Location: Rochdale, Greater Manchester
Salary: £33,000 - £35,000 per annum
Our client is an award-winning, successful machine tool manufacturer, producing high value, precision engineered grinding and rotor milling machines based in Milnrow, Rochdale with excellent transport links.
The Role
Due to high sales and product diversification, they are recruiting a time-served, machine tool fitter with precision engineering experience.
Skills and Qualifications
They are looking for a skilled machine tool fitter/ tool maker with experience in the following areas:
- Building sub-assemblies from component level following drawings and schematics
- Working to tight tolerances (less than 10 microns) with an eye for detail and quality finish
- Experience in the use of measuring tools
- Experience of working on complex machine builds or maintenance of heavy machinery
- Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics would be advantageous as would working with bearing assemblies, gears and alignment of machine
The company are looking for someone who is apprentice trained (mechanical), preferably with an HNC qualification, and has extensive experience in the build /assembly or maintenance of complex, multi axis, precision engineered machinery.
Once fully trained in the build of the machines, you will have the opportunity to travel internationally as a member of their installation team, so flexibility and a willingness to travel is essential.
