Job Requirements / Description
We’re looking for a detail oriented and analytical Management Accountant to join our finance team on a permanent basis. You’ll need to be qualified (ACCA or CIMA), be an excel wizz and be confident in stakeholder management. If you’re coming from one of the Big 4 firms, this could be a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful transition. You’ll be managing the Mount Anvil overhead budget including recharges and levies initiatives, working internally across the business with various stakeholders (technology, sales, marketing, recruitment) working out how to allocate costs to different places using not only analytical skills but emotional intelligence. The goal in mind is cost saving and being able to explain complex financial information concisely to those stakeholders, then present this up the chain to the Group Finance Manager and Finance Director. We’re a high performance culture, in this role that means being organised and able to work to tight deadlines, so being responsible for cost control—ensuring monthly actual and forecast overhead costs are prepared and presented by the end of week one, while holding budget holders accountable during monthly meetings. Having high attention to detail -so taking a step back, making sure your challenges are credible and right with the ability to see the big picture of how and where we can save the pennies. Additionally, you’ll consolidate and prepare weekly cashflow forecasts, giving you a clear picture of our financial position. You’ll also be working as part of the wider Finance team which means you’ll be in the thick of lots of experience, energy and fun – you’ll learn and laugh a lot and be supported throughout. Whilst we’re super disciplined and we all care a lot and work hard, the Big 4 alumni on the team report that they have a more predictable, less chaotic schedule than they experienced before. Which we think is a recipe for sustainable high performance, long-term, as we seek to grow the business together. If you’re someone who loves being all over the detail, can confidently challenge directly, has an analytical brain, and is interested in taking on a new challenging yet rewarding role, please apply today. Mount Anvil What we do: We’ve worked in partnership for 32 years to create outstanding places in London. We’re growing, with our construction turnover doubling, and with a pipeline of new projects where we’re raring to get started and make a difference. Why we’re here: We’re here to pursue better, differently. Better: One of The Sunday Times’ “100 Best Small Companies to Work For” for over a decade, winner of multiple Pride In The Job and WhatHouse awards for our people and the quality of our homes, and proud to have the nation’s best site in our ranks (winning the highest possible marks across the Considerate Constructors Scheme’s five areas – the first site ever to do so in 22 years of the CCS). Differently: Our culture is unusual. Different means more transparent with information. More direct with feedback that helps us all grow. More rigorous about setting goals, then giving more freedom to go and achieve them. It’s definitely not for everyone. We don’t hire know-it-alls, we hire “learn-it-alls”. As our CEO, Killian, says: “We work hard to find people who thrive on context and responsibility, rather than rules and procedures. We then work like owner managers, not a leader and a load of helpers.” Benefits: Private medical insurance for you and your family through Vitality (including discounts on spa breaks, cinema tickets and your food shopping, free Starbucks, 50% off Virgin Active Membership and more). Income Protection Insurance to help you cope financially if you’re unable to work due to illness or injury, Life Assurance equivalent to four times your salary, one additional wellbeing day on top of your annual leave & Bank Holidays and enhanced maternity and paternity leave. We think the best benefit of being here is the learning culture and the ability to make a real difference – we dislike hierarchy and politics, and “not my job” isn’t in our vernacular. Which means if you really care about raising the bar and really want to feel connected to the end product, as opposed to like a cog in a big machine, this could be the place for you to grow your career
