With a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and environmental responsibility, they deliver exceptional service to clients in commercial, residential, and public infrastructure sectors.

Role Overview: My client is seeking an experienced SHEQ Manager to oversee all Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) aspects across fa ade project sites in Manchester and the North West. The role ensures projects meet the highest SHEQ standards, regulatory compliance, and company policies. The successful candidate will provide strategic direction, training, and leadership across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and improve health and safety policies across sites.
  • Conduct site inspections and audits, addressing hazards and implementing corrective actions.
  • Lead incident investigations, providing reports and recommendations for risk mitigation.
  • Deliver health and safety training, toolbox talks, and inductions.
  • Stay updated on health and safety legislation, ensuring compliance.
  • Promote environmental best practices and sustainability across projects.
  • Manage waste disposal, recycling, and environmental impact assessments.
  • Ensure environmental permits and licences are compliant with regulations.
  • Develop and implement quality management systems for fa ade installation.
  • Conduct quality audits to ensure installations meet specifications and standards.
  • Collaborate with project managers to address quality issues promptly.
  • Maintain and monitor compliance with ISO certifications (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001).
  • Prepare SHEQ reports for senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Stay informed of changes in legislation and industry best practices.
  • Support and guide site teams on SHEQ practices.
  • Develop and implement SHEQ training programmes.
  • Foster a culture of safety and quality awareness.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a SHEQ role within the construction industry, ideally in fa ade installation.
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • ISO Lead Auditor certification (9001, 14001, 45001) is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of UK health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
  • Experience managing SHEQ across multiple sites, ideally within the Manchester and North West region.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset with excellent attention to detail.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience working with principal contractors.
  • Background in managing safety and quality on large-scale fa ade projects.
  • Strong understanding of fa ade systems and construction processes.
