Mechanical Design Engiener

Due to business growth, we are looking to recruit for a Mechanical Design Engineer for a leading engineering company in Bradford. If you have real passion for problem solving this is the role for you! We are looking for someone to drive innovation and create solutions for bespoke machine projects. The main purpose of the role is to provide design and development support functions to the business in relation to Mechanical elements for a variety of automation projects for special purpose machinery projects. Candidates will also be required to carry out hands on commissioning of systems including handover to clients. Candidate will ideally be HNC/ HND Qualified in a relevant engineering discipline with demonstrable experience in design and development of special purpose machinery. Experience with Solidworks and AutoCAD is also essential for this role. Candidates MUST have experience working on Special Purpose Automated Systems to be considered for this role. Experience in FMCG Sites is Desirable. Hours – Monday – Friday 8AM – 4.30PM Key Responsibilities: * Execute mechanical designs that meet business and customer specifications * Maintain a high level of commercial awareness to ensure cost-effective solutions and manage scope changes according to standard procedures * Manage your workload to meet project schedules and objectives * Develop mechanical designs from concept to production * Use third-party/supplier software to calculate specific requirements * Implement company and external standards, understanding BS/ISO applications * Review and check the work done by others * Conduct risk assessments of machinery * Provide expert input to ensure the most economical and advantageous design strategy through collaboration Qualifications & Skills: * Minimum HNC qualified in a relevant mechanical discipline or significant industry experience * Proficient in all technical aspects of mechanical design and development of special-purpose machinery, ideally gained in a similar environment * Proven experience in solving technical problems and delivering solutions * Experience in a multi-skilled environment, including knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical components * Experience with robotics * Demonstrated experience in managing technical projects to tight timescales throughout the project life cycle * Essential: 3D CAD design experience (SolidWorks preferred) * Desirable: 2D CAD experience (AutoCAD) * Ability to deliver quality information within deadlines * A team player with the ability to work independently * Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) * Ability to interpret numerical data * Excellent verbal and written communication skills Note: This vacancy is being advertised by Complete Talent Services Ltd who are acting as an Employment Agency
