Job Role: Production Supervisor - Food Indutsry

Starting Salary: 12.35ph up to 6pm and 13.10ph after 6pm (Higher hourly rate depending on experience)

Location: Bilston, Wolverhampton

Type: Full Time / Permanent

Hours: Perm PM shifts : Tuesday to Friday from 14:45 to 23:00 Saturday from 09:00 to 18:00

Overview:

Everest People Solutions is seeking a dedicated and experienced Production Supervisor to join a dynamic production team at a leading food processor. As Production Supervisor, you will be overseeing production operatives and ensuring that the production process meets both customer requirements and safety targets. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a team of 20-25 operatives, ensuring high-quality products are produced efficiently and cost-effectively.

Key Duties & Responsibilities for the Production Supervisor:

  • Supervise a shift of production operators, ensuring a safe working environment and compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Monitor key performance indicators including line rates, quality, and yield. Implement ideas to improve performance and reduce costs.
  • Ensure all staff are fully trained according to task procedures and individual needs. Engage and motivate the team through regular mentoring and performance evaluations.
  • Oversee the setup and operation of production lines, ensuring products meet customer specifications and production targets.
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, and all relevant safety standards. Report and address any non-conformances promptly.
  • Review and improve line performance, implement new initiatives, and minimize downtime.
  • Work with cross-functional teams including QA, Production Managers, and other Supervisors to ensure smooth operations and adherence to quality standards.

Requirements for the Production Supervisor

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within a production environment is essential.
  • Experience in the food production industry is essential.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Commitment to health and safety standards.
  • Proficiency in IT, including the use of production management software.
  • Knowledge of HACCP and GMP principles.
  • Certification in Health and Safety.
