Our client is recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer to join their team in Devon!


What you’ll be doing:

  • Serve as the main customer contact, leading complaint resolution and root cause analysis.
  • Support manufacturing by analyzing quality data and ensuring compliance with EQMS policies.
  • Solve technical and process issues using 8D, Six Sigma, and structured problem-solving methods.
  • Develop, implement, and enhance Quality Management Systems, with a focus on new product launches.
  • Lead internal audits and prepare documentation to meet customer requirements.
  • Analyze quality metrics and recommend improvements to close performance gaps.
  • Use statistical data to drive product and process improvements.
  • Design and deliver training programs to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Oversee product development by evaluating customer expectations and conducting reliability analyses.
  • Develop and audit process capabilities and control plans to improve product quality.
  • Investigate and resolve quality issues, ensuring corrective actions are applied.
  • Assist in the selection and evaluation of gauges, tools, and test equipment.


Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques (e.g., value stream mapping, one-piece flow).
  • Strong understanding of Six Sigma tools for minimizing product variability (e.g., regression analysis, design of experiments).
  • Proficiency in problem-solving methods like 8D, root cause analysis, and FMEA.
  • Skilled in CAD, CAM, MS Office, MiniTab, and similar software.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing principles (e.g., metal cutting, tool design, injection molding).
  • Experience leading cross-functional process improvement teams.
  • Strong grasp of engineering design and product reliability concepts (e.g., fluid/thermal dynamics, electronic circuits).
  • Familiarity with ProLaunch and industry quality standards (ISO9001, AS9100).
  • Understanding of product specifications, end-user applications, and testing requirements.
