Our client, one of the largest banks in the world, is seeking a Senior Network Engineer for an exciting 12-month contract role.

In this position, you'll work with a Global team to maintain the operational stability of a major low latency eTrading platform. Offering a competitive rate of up to £700 Day rate (Umbrella) This role requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. (You'll also be on call once every six weeks, earning an additional £500 per week. Weekend work will be compensated at 1.25 times your day rate as needed. The role includes a hybrid working model with 50% office attendance (2-3 days per week).

Requirements: Experience in financial markets, particularly with low latency switching, BGP, and multicast. Strong TCP/IP troubleshooting skills and familiarity with co-location facilities are essential. Technical skills required include in-depth knowledge of multicast protocols, Cisco and Arista hardware, various Cisco software versions, scripting with Ansible and Python, PTP clock time stamping, and Ethernet technologies. Experience with routing and switching protocols, traffic analysis tools, Cisco wireless technologies, and Juniper equipment is also necessary. Proficiency with ITIL and change management practices is expected.

Responsibilities: Your responsibilities will include managing all aspects of exchange and vendor connectivity, onboarding new clients, and designing bespoke network solutions. You will convert requests into detailed network designs, ensure changes are implemented safely, and create technical documentation for global support teams. The role also involves performing capacity planning, maintaining the production environment, and ensuring robust business continuity planning.
