Chief Executive Officer

Our client is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers and suppliers of industrial consumables. Over recent years the Group has delivered growth both organically and by acquisition and today has a turnover north of £250M.They are now in the process of solidifying their position within their sector and are recruiting an experienced Chief Executive Officer to take them through the next phase of their development. This role will lead the board of Directors and report to the external owners of the business. The future plan for the business is to achieve a successful exit for the current investors/owners and this role, in collaboration with the executive team, will prepare the group financially and strategically for exit in the next 3 years.The CEO will be accountable and responsible for the day-to-day operation of the business, delivering the growth and exit strategy and leading the transformation strategy that will deliver a successful exit. It is a pivotal role leading a business of over 1000 people and overseeing all activities within a UK wide manufacturing business that supplies a multitude of customers nationally. Initially this role will analyse the current situation and work with the teams to create, implement and deploy a strategy that delivers growth, reduces inefficiencies and achieves the exit plan within the timescales. Some of the key accountabilities include :Motivating, developing and empowering the team, supporting them and working with them to deliver the change that is required. Collaborating closely with the private equity investors, commercial leaders, operational and manufacturing teams and other key stakeholders to drive value creation.Building relationships externally with customers, funders, suppliers and insurers.Reviewing the existing organisation and operational activities, identifying quick wins that improve efficiencies in operational activities and revenue/earnings potential and with the team, deploy these. Working closely with the CFO to ensure that the key financial indicators are measured, reported on and understood by the team. We would like to speak with experienced and CEO’s with superlative leadership skills who have experience of working within a multi-site, multi-faceted business. In addition you should be:Experienced in turnaround, fundraising and investor relations and comfortable and confident in dealing with private equity funders.Able to deliver business improvements that add to the margin performance. An experienced Managing Director/CEO from the manufacturing se sector, having led business that generates revenues north of £180m.A superlative communicator, able to deliver information in a manner that drives decisions.An emotionally intelligent leader who has galvanised and motivated teams to deliver in a sometimes pressurised environment.The business has a clear and embedded set of values which focus employee engagement and development and operating in an ethical manner.This role will be based on-site at their site in South Yorkshire with travel throughout the UK. The salary for this role is supplemented by an Executive Package that includes 50% Bonus, Car, Health Care, Pension, Private Medical, Equity and 33 days holiday.This is an interesting and exciting opportunity to take a business through turnaround and an exit in the next 3 years with the added financial incentives that this will bring.
