Position: English Teacher Location: Secondary School, Manchester Contract Type: Full-time / Permanent Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience) We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate English Teacher to join our dynamic and supportive team at a forward-thinking secondary school in Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented educator to inspire students and foster a love for literature, language, and learning. Key Responsibilities: * Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. * Inspire students to develop a passion for English, improving their reading, writing, and analytical skills. * Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and setting ambitious targets. * Work collaboratively with colleagues in the English department to create a cohesive curriculum and share best practices. * Support the learning and development of students of all abilities, ensuring lessons are differentiated to meet individual needs. * Contribute to the wider school community through participation in extracurricular activities, such as drama or creative writing clubs. * Maintain high expectations of behavior and academic performance, promoting a positive learning environment. Key Requirements: * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in English or a related field. * Experience teaching English in a secondary school setting (NQTs/ECTs are welcome to apply). * A genuine passion for English and the ability to engage and motivate students. * Strong classroom management skills and a commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment. * Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills. Desirable: * Experience teaching English at Key Stage 5 (A-level). * Familiarity with the latest educational research and approaches to English teaching. * Experience with intervention strategies to support students who require additional help.
