At Windcat, we have been at the forefront of providing specialist crew transfer vessels to the offshore industry for over two decades. With a growing fleet of over 55 vessels and even more vessels in build, including the new MK5 series, we are one of the largest CTV operators in the industry. We are adding a new vessel type to our fleet to offer safety and comfort for up to 120 people: six Elevation Series CSOVs are currently underway. The first of these innovative vessels is expected to launch in 2025, complementing our existing CTV fleet.


Our offices in Lowestoft (UK) and IJmuiden (the Netherlands) support the operation of our vessels across multiple sites and collaborates with local partners across Europe.

To do this we are looking for a Crewing Officer, on a fixed term contract, to join our crewing team whose expertise in planning and managing our skilled crew is critical to the success of our long-term plans.


Job description

As a key member of the Crewing Team, in this dual role you will assist the Crew Planner and the Crew Training Administrator. You will be highly organised and can prioritise competing needs in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for crew planning for the European Fleet and some smaller UK sites, in relation to shift lines and ensuring crew annual leave requests are covered. Additionally, you will monitor crew Certification expiries (such as ENG1, Passports and similar) and arrange for crew to attend non-standard courses.


Key Duties

Assisting the Crew Planner includes:

• Responsibility for planning and other relevant arrangements for European fleet and smaller UK sites, under supervision of the Crew Planner.

• Assist Crew Planner with all other crew scheduling and ensure qualified manning of vessels across the Fleet.

• Administrative support to the Crew Planner including creating and updating site schedules, distributing schedules to clients and crew.

• Consult with Fleet Managers for emergency cover such as in the event of sickness.

• Preparation of immigration documents for all on-singing/off-signing crew on European sites.

• Managing crew annual leave requests and arranging cover.


Administrative support to the Crew Training Administrator includes:

• Monitoring expiration of relevant mandatory certification for crew (ENG1 Medicals, passports, GMDSS GOC/ROC, Master 200/500).

• Course bookings for additional non-mandatory training, including sourcing providers, arranging shift cover and associated logistics such as travel and accommodation.

• Arranging AED/CPR courses for New Starters.

• General administrative assistance including updating online databases and systems and filing.


Personnel / Management / Team Responsibilities

• Assisting with travel and accommodation arrangements, as necessary.

• Assisting crew members with any questions, issues or other ad hoc matters that arise

• Assist with ad hoc additional tasks in support of other team members as directed by your Line Manager.


Skills and Experience

• Proven experience in a similar role

• Ability to adapt communication style and language to audience

• Highly organised and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and find effective solutions

• Ability to build strong relationships with crew members and other stakeholders is key

• Excellent communication skills

• Ability to work independently but also as part of a team
