Transport Planner

Our client is a highly successful storage and distribution company, currently realising a number of expansion plans. They are presently seeking a Transport Planner for their Head Office on the outskirts of Derby. Although this is a temporary role, it is expected to be a long term arrangement with the possibility of a permanent job for the right person. General duties will entail: * Using software, plan customer deliveries accordingly * Maximizing on capacity and efficiency * Sourcing and planning backloads * Liaison with other depots * Ensure a healthy profit margin is maintained from vehicles * Associated admin duties It is expected that the successful candidate will have multi-drop planning experience along with solid geographical knowledge. You should also possess great communication skills and be adept at driver management.
