Safety Officer Wells, Somerset Part time permanent position £15.18-£17.71 per hour Pin Point Recruitment are delighted to be assisting its client in Wells, Somerset and we are looking for a Safety Officer for its business Summary of the Role: Responsible for all Health & Safety practices including policies, procedures, investigations and support for the site. Essential Skills / Qualifications: NEBOSH or IOSH certificate with experience in the manufacturing industry Role Responsibilities: * Understand and ensure all Health & Safety laws and regulations are enforced and advise the company on legislation compliance * Keep up to date with any Health & Safety law changes and communicate to senior management. * Develop, implement and maintain all Health & Safety policies, procedures and guidelines for the company * Train staff internally on Health & Safety policies and procedures as required. * Alert senior management to any short term or long-term activities or budgets for this area. * Organise external training for staff, i.e. First Aid, Dangerous Goods * Perform on-site risk assessments, implement controls and establish safe work systems. * Carrying out on-site audits and inspection surveys in line with legislation and implement agreed actions where appropriate. * Complete COSHH RA for all chemicals handled on site and advise on how to deal with the handling and disposal of hazardous substances * Carry out site inspections and data gathering * Investigate incidents which occur on site and prepare, complete accident reports and provide actionable advice. * Providing guidance on safety equipment and the safe installation of new machinery as and when required * Undertake site call outs for alarm and biomass boiler * Complete Health & Safety inductions for all new personnel and continual refresher training for existing staff. * Promote a safe working environment in line with policies on Health and Safety, highlighting any significant deficiencies to the line manager. * Other activities and tasks as required within this remit * Work at all times in line with personal and departmental objectives – striving for personal & business improvement at all times.
