Willmott Dixon is currently looking to recruit an Senior Estimator to join our North East construction business. Based in the Gateshead office. we deliver projects ranging in value from 10m to 70m across a range of sectors, including Education, Leisure, Health, Blue Light and Commercial. This will be a hybrid role with a mix of remote and office-based work.

The Senior Estimator will be required to fulfil the estimating duties on projects in tender and negotiation. Our tender pipeline is healthy and with our projects in negotiation now being predominantly estimator-led, additional resource is required. This is also a great opportunity to be mentored by an experienced senior estimating team and learn further skills on the job.

An Senior Estimator would be utilised to:

  • To lead the financial elements of 2 stages and negotiated tenders from the initial cost plan through to the financial close.
  • To steer design teams towards affordable solutions.
  • To engage with our supply chain to ensure costs are robust and solutions are buildable.
  • Provide regular cost updates to the client's surveying team and finalize negotiations prior to entering into a contract.

The Project

Essential Criteria

  • Have experience with various construction methods
  • Experience in controlling costs, timing and quality in line with targets
  • Experience in reading and accurately interpreting drawings and technical specifications
  • Good standard of mathematical ability

Desirable Criteria

  • Relevant degree
  • Use of Conquest Estimating System or similar
