Design Engineer

The successful Design Engineer will work to develop and deliver innovative new products. Concept development: Develop ideas and prototypes to establish the feasibility of designs using suitable prototyping techniques. Product Design: Develop product designs using the company CAD system. Product approval: Develop a qualification plan and execute the required product testing against the relevant legislative requirements. Product testing: Organise, manage and conduct testing of new and current products. Product knowledge and support: company manufactures and markets a wide range of products. The engineering team needs to support these products in a variety of ways including answering questions from customers, commercial and operations colleagues. Proactively developing their product, components and system knowledge. To be successful in this role of Design Engineer we would love to speak to anyone who has experience of: Formal engineering qualification - HNC, HND, Degree ideally is preferred, alternatively equivalent experience and evidence of continuing CPD and demonstrable theoretical knowledge of engineering principles Mechanical or Electrical qualifications are a benefit. 3D CAD experience is essential, particularly in sheet metal Mechanical and electrical dexterity is essential in order to assemble mechanical and electrical components. Electrical circuit design and knowledge of electrical components is advantageous Gas system design and knowledge of gas components is advantageous Excellent skills in time management and understanding of priorities and how to move a project forward is essential in order to maximise contribution.
