Integrity Education Solutions are supporting a primary school based in Norfolk and easy travelling distance of surrounding areas. They are seeking to appoint an Assistant Headteacher for SEND and Inclusion on a permanent basis from January 2025. The core purpose of the Assistant Headteacher will be to ensure the achievement of the highest possible educational standards, creating an ethos characterised by high expectations and a community in which pupils and staff feel valued and the ideal candidate will have experience with SEND, Inclusion. The school pride themselves on being a friendly, successful, and vibrant two-form entry primary school situated on a large well -resourced site with an impressive outdoor environment and recently received a ‘Good Ofsted judgement in all areas. The staff and wider team are proud to continue setting high standards and academic achievements for the children, as well as offering a supportive and creative learning environment. They are also lucky enough to be able to offer all children specialist provision for music and sport. The school work closely with other local schools, both secondary and primary, which ensures that there is consistency between the schools in areas such as SEND provision. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Ensure that all teachers have the necessary skills to promote the achievement of pupils with SEND and other vulnerable students. * Quality assure the teaching of SEND pupils AND SEN provision map. * Lead responsibility for safeguarding and child protection. The DSL will carry out their role in accordance with the responsibilities outlined in Annex B of ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’. * Lead strategies to secure excellent behaviour for learning for pupils with SEND, including those pupils with SEMH. * Lead on the support and provision for Looked After Children (LAC) and Young Carers * Analyse performance and behaviour data of SEND and maintain a strategic overview of interventions, as necessary. * Lead the induction of SEND pupils and contribute to an enriched induction offer. * Lead strategies to support pupils to develop good mental health and high levels of resilience. * Quality assure any alternative provision offered to pupils and monitor engagement. * Provide strategic leadership of provision for pupils with medical needs. * Support liaison with external agencies to secure provision for pupils with SEND. * Support liaison with the local authority to secure appropriate additional funding for pupils with SEND. * Lead professional development of staff to develop their inclusive practice. * Provide strategic leadership of the induction of pupils who join in-year. KEY EXPERIENCE REQUIRED * Successful experience of teaching in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 * Track record of raising standards across a whole school or across departments * Proven ability to deliver well planned and stimulating lessons. * Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of effective behaviour management strategies and the ability to put these into practice. * Deep knowledge of what constitutes effective teaching and learning. * Ability to use evidence to inform practice. Understanding of how children learn and the ability to translate this into classroom practice. * Demonstrable experience of devising effective strategies to support disadvantaged pupils. * Knowledge of current educational policy, recent educational research, and initiatives.
