Risk Manager - Southampton - Salary TBD

Our client are looking for a Risk Manager to join their team in Southampton, UK.

As Risk Manager you will be tasked to elevate the company's approach to the effective management of risk for their fleet. To keep all things safe and operating effectively.

Please note: Travel will be required as part of this role.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for developing, managing and overseeing Fleet management's (FM) risk management strategy.
• Ensuring there are effective risk management tools and processes in place to ensure fleet risks are identified, assessed and mitigated.
• Lead on the development and maintenance of the FM risk register to manage risk relating to the fleet's safe operation.
• Have an understanding of customer needs as the basis for decision-making and organisational action; building strong relationships of trust with customers and clients.
• Continually review and identify risks and opportunities affecting the fleet internally and externally, monitor and alert management on developing risks to the fleet worldwide.
• Provide leadership and act as the subject matter expert for risk management within FM.
• Identify training needs and provide coaching to develop FM and key partner's capability to manage risk.
• Develop and maintain FM processes for KPI monitoring and tracking to improve fleet standards and performance.
• Interact with key partners internal and external to ensure that the FM risk strategy is coordinated within the ecosystem.
• Develop and implement effective risk reporting processes to give oversight of risk exposure relating to the fleet's safe operation.
• Support in development of safety culture throughout the organisation.
• Stay connected to industry trends and standards, and regularly seek knowledge and inspiration to spark innovation and creativity in finding new and better ways of doing things.
• Champion a digital mindset for all opportunities and in developing all tools and reporting requirements.

Knowledge and skills:

• University degree in fields of study associated with a role preferably from Risk Management or equivalent is desirable.
• Minimum five-years' experience in similar role preferably within shipping related business.
• Proactive, self-starter, able to work self-sufficiently with manager and key-partners in other locations.
• Confident in working in a complex, international company environment.
• Experienced in identifying risks according to ISO 31000 standard.
• Digital Management/platform awareness/openness
• Confident and able to articulate well, including toward executives with excellent communication skills.
• Proficient in decision-making based on data analysis and statistics.
• Detail-oriented Structured working manner, organized mindset/skills.
• Strong and dedicated team orientation
