Our client, a well-established independent construction consultancy, is seeking a Senior Claims Consultant to provide expert contractual, commercial, and planning support to their construction teams. Position Overview
As a Senior Claims Consultant, you will play a crucial role in providing contractual, commercial, and planning expertise to support the resolution of construction claims and disputes. You will work closely with leading contractors, lawyers, and employers, leveraging your skills in forensic delay, quantum analysis, and entitlement submissions to achieve positive outcomes for all parties involved.
Responsibilities
- Develop entitlements quickly from on-the-ground evidence
- Craft compelling evidence-based narratives to convey the bigger picture
- Lead client presentations, utilising excellent verbal communication skills
- Generate high-quality documentation to support claims and disputes
- Manage personal and project time effectively to ensure deliverables
- Comply with company procedures to maintain professional standards
Requirements
- Degree in a construction-related field (e.g., Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management)
- Membership in a relevant professional institution (e.g., RICS, CIOB, ICE)
- Minimum of 6 years of construction industry experience, including senior roles
- Expertise within the construction sector, ideally with tier 1 contracting experience
- Excellent writing and grammar skills for producing high-quality documentation
- Ability to set strategy and develop structures for demonstrating entitlements
- Strong interpersonal and professional skills for client-facing roles
- Hands-on experience developing construction claims and calculating recoverable costs
- Proficiency in IT, planning, time management, and teamwork
- Active interest in local institution activities and commitment to personal development
