Falmouth Fairfax is delighted to be exclusively instructed by Dorrington to source a Residential Investment Surveyor for their growing team. The team is responsible for a portfolio of properties which provides a variety of homes for rent, including traditional rented homes on ASTs and protected tenancies, fully serviced apartments, and an expanding co-living offer. The properties are diverse spanning period mansion blocks to modern, purpose-built rental buildings, single houses, and whole estates.
The Role
Reporting to Directors in the residential team, this individual will engage with the entire lifecycle of living sector investments, from active asset management, evaluating investment opportunities to enhancing value through acquisitions and optimising portfolio performance through valuation or sale. Responsibilities will include:
Asset Management:
- Assisting with the execution of asset management initiatives, including capex programmes, new lettings, renewals and rent reviews.
- Assisting with the formation of asset management strategies for existing assets and prospective purchases.
Investment:
- Sourcing and evaluating new investment and development opportunities with the team.
- Assisting with compiling information to facilitate the acquisition / sales process.
Analytical:
- Market research – liaising with agents and valuers and analysing market reports to produce market intel and assumptions for business plans and cash flow analysis.
- Reporting – assistance with the production of board reports for the existing portfolio and investment memorandums for potential acquisitions.
The Candidate
Dorrington are looking for an ambitious, personable, smart and self-motivated candidate who is versatile and able to deliver against a wide range of responsibilities across asset management, investment, valuation, development and sales. The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Degree or similar professional qualification.
- MRICS qualification (preferred).
- At least two years’ experience in the real estate industry.
Remuneration
As the level of experience for potential candidates is varied for this position, the salary will be dependant on the successful candidate’s prior experience. In addition to the basic salary there will be a range of benefits and an annual bonus. Employees of Dorrington also benefit from an on-site chef and gym.
