Job Description

Materials Team Leader

Location: Buckinghamshire

Job Type: Full-Time

Salary : 45-50k + benefits

Looking to step up into a leadership role that really makes a difference?

I’m working with a fantastic company with global presence & household brands that’s looking for a Materials Team Leader to join their growing team.

This is more than just managing stock levels—it's about leading a team, driving change, and being at the heart of some really exciting supply chain projects.

If you love the idea of balancing day-to-day operations with big-picture strategy, this could be just the opportunity for you!

The Role:

As the Materials Team Leader, you’ll own the materials inventory and play a crucial role in keeping things running smoothly. But it’s not just about ticking boxes—this is a chance to lead, coach a team, and improve processes in a way that really impacts the business. You’ll be working across departments, managing everything from raw materials planning to supplier relationships. And you’ll also be the go-to person for tackling any supply challenges that arise.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

  • Leading a small team, coaching them to hit targets, and ensuring they’re set up for success.
  • Managing raw materials, inventory, and ensuring everything runs like clockwork.
  • Working closely with procurement, NPD, and other teams to keep everything aligned and make sure the planning cycle works for everyone.
  • Handling significant supply challenges—when things get tricky, you’ll be the one keeping the ship steady and finding solutions.
  • Taking part in exciting regional and global projects, from new product launches to process improvements.

What They’re Looking For:

This role is ideal for someone who’s already worked in planning functions, ideally with materials & wanting to take their leadership skills to the next level.

You’ll need to be hands-on but also a strategic thinker who enjoys solving problems and working with different teams.

Here’s a snapshot of what you’ll need:

  • Experience in supply chain or materials management (FMCG is a bonus!).
  • Confidence using SAP MRP and other business systems.
  • A knack for analysing data, solving problems, and driving continuous improvement.
  • Strong communication and people skills—you’ll be collaborating with lots of teams, so this is a must.
  • A creative thinker who’s not afraid to challenge the status quo.
  • Someone who can lead from the front, inspire a team, and navigate change.

Why You’ll Love This Role:

  • Leadership opportunity – This isn’t just about managing stock; you’ll be shaping the future of materials management and have a direct impact on business success.
  • Collaborative environment – Work with people across departments, regions, and projects, so no two days will be the same.
  • Room to grow – This is a great role for someone who wants to drive improvements, lead change, and develop professionally in a supportive environment.

Thanks for consideration, we look forward to your application.
