Press / Tool Change Operator

Our customer base spans major OEMs in a range of sectors such as automotive, medical, transport and construction. Behind the scenes, our state-of-the-art equipment includes some of the largest compression moulding presses in the UK, robotic cells, 5-axis CNC machines, conveyorized paint lines and advanced assembly fixtures. The Person The ideal candidate will have manufacturing experience, be a pro-active, self-confident, and flexible individual, who uses their initiative to seek/ generate ideas and opportunities and is prepared to take decisions and undertake direction. They will be adaptable and flexible with the ability to develop the department to achieve, or exceed, the business plan performance expectations, in terms of Safety, Machine, Quality, Delivery and Cost within an ISO and TS16949 environment. As Press Operator / Tool Change Operator you will have responsibility for the efficient operation of your press and tool changes on shift. The Press Operations include: Cleaning and releasing the mould at the start of a shift and as required making it ready for moulding. Cutting and weighing LPMC Compound material. Placing inserts in the mould where required. Ensuring that the moulds have reached their specified working temperature before moulding commences. Loading compound into the mould and producing product. Following the defined quality checks for product. De-flash product where required. Completion of related machine data records and product identification. Full compliance to all safety aspects of the machine TheTool Changing duties include: Tool changes in line with our tool change process Manoeuvring tools safely using the Dolly Setting temperatures etc Reporting Maintenance issues as required Loading PSPs Recording tool change data and times Undertaking small running repairs at the presses as trained Currently the position will be able to offer £14.41 per hour on a two-week rotational shift and this rate is under review.
