Senior Accountant - Hybrid/Flexi Working - 40K Plus - St Helens

Key Requirements of the Senior Accountant * Fully or part-qualified (ACCA/ACA) or QBE. * A minimum of 5 years’ experience in practice. * Familiarity with auditing techniques is advantageous but not required. * Up to date with continuing professional development (CPD) and accounting training. * Excellent communication and organizational skills with attention to detail. * Familiarity with CCH accountancy software is preferred, though training will be provided if necessary. Experience with Sage software is also desirable Key Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant * Preparing annual accounts for a diverse client base, including complex limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships, using accounting software in line with established accounting principles. * Drafting corporation tax computations and returns for managerial review. * Handling deferred tax calculations and tax reconciliations. * Preparing VAT returns and demonstrating knowledge of Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements. * Creating periodic management accounts for internal reporting purposes. * Ensuring timely submission of year-end company accounts and corporation tax returns in compliance with Companies House and HMRC deadlines. * Addressing client inquiries via phone, email, and in person as needed. * Managing a personal portfolio of clients, with general oversight from the line manager or Partner.
