Newcastle College is seeking enthusiastic and enthusiastic Dyslexia Support Tutor to join our passionate teams that supports the achievements of students with additional learning needs and or disabilities including young people and adults.The main responsibilities of this role include the delivery of specialist dyslexia support sessions to students from 1:1 to small group support, and the administration of dyslexia screening and exam access arrangement assessments. This includes the timely applications of EAAs to meet JCQ deadlines. This post requires a strong background in dyslexia and exam access arrangement assessments and the candidate must have a proven track record of professional / vocational expertise in the SEND sector. It is favourable to have a specific Level 7 Dyslexia Professional /EEA qualification. However, we welcome applicants who would be willing to work toward a AMBDA or APC. The salary for this post depending on qualifications within the job description ranges from NCL Support grade L-M (Grade L Salary £29 899- £30,671, Grade M £31 520- £32 396 at a 1FTE). The candidate must have English and maths qualifications at level 2 or be willing to achieve these within an agreed timeframe. An ability to self-manage workload, meet deadlines alongside strong oral and written communication skills and good IT skills are also essential. The hours of work will be flexible and may include evening and weekends according to demand.
