Zedwell Capsule Hostel will be an exciting new, modern, and innovative project located in the heart of Piccadilly Circus, offering guests a unique and restful stay. With 990 capsules and a direct tube link from Piccadilly Circus Underground to the hostel, Zedwell will provide a distinctive accommodation experience right in the centre of London. We are seeking a dynamic and passionate General Manager to lead the opening and ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the hostel, delivering exceptional guest experiences from the outset. The ideal candidate will have experience managing large hostels or hostels (300 beds) and, ideally, pre-opening experience to ensure Zedwell is efficiently set up and maintains its high standards of service and hospitality from the very beginning. The Role: As the General Manager of Zedwell Capsule Hostel, Piccadilly Circus, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the hostel, ensuring both operational efficiency and the highest levels of customer satisfaction. Your leadership will ensure that Zedwell upholds its reputation for offering a peaceful and comfortable experience, even in the heart of bustling central London. You will manage a dedicated team, focusing on guest satisfaction, operational standards, and financial performance. You will also play a key role in ensuring the hostel's smooth functioning, from front-of-house services to maintenance, and managing budgets and KPIs. oversee the hostel's day-to-day operations, ensuring Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Team Management: Lead, motivate, and develop a team of hospitality professionals, ensuring they provide outstanding customer service and create a welcoming atmosphere for all guests. Oversee staff recruitment, training, and ongoing development to ensure high performance and engagement. Day-to-Day Operations : Manage the daily operations of the hostel, ensuring all services run efficiently and to a high standard. This includes front desk management, housekeeping, and maintenance to provide a seamless experience for all guests. Guest Satisfaction: Ensure guests have a positive and memorable stay, resolving any issues or concerns swiftly and effectively, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement in service standards. Develop guest feedback mechanisms to continuously monitor and improve guest satisfaction. Operational Oversight: Oversee all operational aspects of the hostel, including front desk services, housekeeping, and maintenance, ensuring the hostel runs smoothly and efficiently. Financial Management: Manage budgets, financial targets, and KPIs to ensure the profitability of the hostel. This includes monitoring occupancy rates, pricing strategies, and controlling costs while maintaining high standards. Develop and execute strategic initiatives to increase profitability and control operational costs. Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure the hostel complies with all health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe environment for both guests and staff. Establish and implement crisis management protocols to effectively address emergencies or unforeseen situations Marketing & Business Development: Work closely with the marketing team to promote Zedwell, enhancing brand visibility and driving occupancy through innovative marketing strategies and partnerships. Stakeholder Engagement : Liaise with suppliers, local authorities, and key stakeholders to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations. Pre-opening experience is highly desirable, ensuring that the candidate can manage the transition from construction or refurbishment into full operation. Strong leadership and people management skills, with a track record of successfully leading teams to deliver exceptional customer service. A passion for hospitality and ensuring an outstanding guest experience, with excellent problem-solving abilities. Strong understanding of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with staff, guests, and external partners effectively. A proactive approach with exceptional organisational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
