Mobile Heavy Plant Mechanic based in and around Glasgow

CRJ Services Ltd is a leading recycling, forestry and material processing equipment solutions provider based near Knutsford, Cheshire. We hire and sell quality machinery from a range of world-renowned OEM brands, with machines supported by our Service department.


The Role

We are looking for additional skilled Mobile Plant Mechanics to join our existing Service Team. The main purpose of the role is to diagnose problems, maintain, repair and refurbish our growing fleet of recycling plant (shredders and screeners) for both our own hire fleet and also for our customer owned equipment.

The Person:

1. Extensive Experience in Mechanical Engineering (Heavy Plant) :

  • Proven background in mechanical engineering with a focus on heavy plant machinery.
  • Specific experience with shredders and screeners is highly advantageous.
  • Must have their own tools


2. Proficiency in Hydraulic and Electrical Systems:

  • In-depth knowledge and practical experience in diagnosing and repairing hydraulic and electrical systems on heavy machinery.


3. Field Service Expertise:

  • Demonstrated ability to work in mobile/field service environments, including fault-finding and service/repair work on-site.
  • Willingness to travel and work overtime as and when required.


4. Self-Motivation and Reliability:

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, ensuring high standards of workmanship.
  • Excellent time management and punctuality, with a reliable work ethic.


5. Effective Communication and Customer Relations:

  • Strong interpersonal skills to maintain positive working relationships with service controllers and customers.
  • Ability to communicate technical issues clearly and effectively to both service controllers and customers.
