Position: Head of SHE Location: Scottish Water Framework Salary Guide: £Negotiable DOE, Plus Car/Allowance and Excellent Benefits Package Our client is a Tier 1 D&B Contractor operating predominately in the water industry, who are delivering a significant proportion of Scottish Water's SR21 programme of clean and wastewater non-infrastructure projects throughout Scotland. They are recruiting for a Head of SHE be based from their offices in Glasgow where you will lead on all Safety, Health, and Environmental aspects. You will have overall accountability for developing and executing the SHE strategy and systems to ensure that the delivery of their operations meets exemplary safety, health, and environmental standards. The Head of SHE is a critical role in driving improvement and consistency in performance, ensuring compliance with management systems, and driving continual improvement initiatives. You will also be a member of the senior leadership team. Key responsibilities: Foster and support an inclusive, open, transparent, and collaborative behaviours to develop the SHE culture, maturity, and behaviours to deliver SHE excellence. Lead, manage and assure the SHE strategy to drive continual improvement through the business addressing short-, medium-, and long-term strategic growth and learning. This will be achieved through collaboration with others in the leadership team and other key stakeholders. Lead, manage and assure the SHE Management System, taking account of the JV, Scottish Water, and Parent Company requirements. This will include designing policies that align with the overall strategy and driving efficiency through their processes and standards. Lead, manage, assure, and nurture an implementation strategy for SHE initiatives specific to the JV, and aligned with Scottish Water and parent company initiatives. Engage and influence key internal and external key stakeholders, including Scottish Water, Alliance, Tier 1 and Supply Chain partners, regulatory authorities, industry bodies, and colleagues, through the plan, prepare and delivery of project lifecycle. Lead, manage and develop our SHE functions, inspiring and nurturing growth, learning, and support as individuals while at the same time fostering continual learning and improvement of business operations to provide excellent customer service. Own, develop, implement, and report on SHE strategy and operational performance KPIs using internal and external metrics. Delivers strategic review on performance and drives strategic direction. Deliver continuous improvement of SHE practices unlocking gains in SHE performance and mitigate risk to the JV that could occur through SHE-related issues. Skills, Qualifications & Experience: Experienced in leading a similar sized SHE function in either infrastructure, water, or similar regulated markets. Experienced in leading and coaching a team to achieve high-performance outcomes. Experienced in delivering SHE performance in project lifecycle environment. Knowledge of data analytics and reporting systems. Proven in developing and delivering a successful SHE strategy autonomously based on your experience and technical knowledge of SHE management, systems, risks, and legal frameworks. Proven at delivering results and meeting SHE, financial and operational KPIs. A responsible leader with an open, strategic, and analytic mind, who is committed to productivity, compliance, and continual improvement. Proven experience and strength in understanding transforming cultures and organisational development. Thrives in complex, dynamic, working environments and relationships. Track record in applying restless curiosity to create positive outcomes in similar environments. Highly collaborative and outstanding relationship building capacity, with strong communication, negotiating, engaging, and influencing skills.
