Engineering Buyer

We have a vacancy for an Engineering Buyer with our well-established client near Huddersfield. The Engineering Buyer works closely with the Purchasing Supervisor to make sure that only the best quality equipment, goods and services are acquired for the company at the most competitive prices delivered in the correct time frames. They need to be good at negotiating, networking and dealing with customers. Engineering Buyer - Key Responsibilities - Supply Chain, Purchasing, Procurement * Procurement of materials, components or contract machining in a timely fashion to meet required deadlines * Ability to forecast product demand based on historical data * Initiation of bid and quote process for purchasing supplies * Ability to negotiate costs, negotiate tight delivery dates, and hit them * Able to negotiate and bring delivery dates forward when needed * Prepare and process purchase orders * Supplier relationship management and monitoring of rejects Engineering Buyer - Skills and Abilities - Supply Chain, Purchasing, Procurement * A good understanding of the differing types of materials and codes and standards * Proven track record of controlling and reducing external spend whilst developing a robust supplier base * Fully conversant with modern procurement and purchasing techniques * High competency level in use of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, as a minimum) * Experience of working with ERP / MRP systems is essential Engineering Buyer, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Procurement If this role could appeal please do apply now
