A growing area of practice is in Capital Programmes transformation, to drive strategy, assurance, efficiency and deliverability in large investment programmes across the built environment. Due to growing market demand and complexity, and many clients struggling to deliver their programmes on time, on budget and on benefits, this is a key investment area for Business Advisory. Hence there is now an opportunity to play a key leadership role in this practice, working with some of our most high-profile clients and their largest and most complex programmes.Role description:To understand and demonstrate capability to influence and develop the Arcadis business and the Business Advisory Communities of Practice, Service Capabilities and Value Propositions for our client's major Capital Programmes. Focus on the UK, but as part of a new global Community of Practice for Capital Programme Advisory services, working with clients and their investment programmes across the sectors of the built environment.Play a key role in growing our market offer to support clients across the lifecycle of major programmes, to achieve the right outcomes and benefits for their businesses and stakeholders, on time and budget. The Director's role is to demonstrate the ability to:1) Develop and land integrated and innovative propositions that respond to client and market need and strengthens our Business Advisory brand in the capital programmes market, commanding margins consistent with the established management consultancy market2) Lead the service line to achieve exceptional client outcomes and commercial revenue and margins through service excellence across a multiple million pound complex capability area3) Bring thought leadership to the business and clients and be widely recognised as an authority in their field both in as well as outside Arcadis4) Promote diversity and inclusion and well-being through leadership behaviours, and embed this culture within Business Advisory5) Make a positive difference in the world and improve quality of life though our work with clients6)  Lead the UK Capital Programme community and teams, as part of a growing global consulting practice. Inspire and motivate our people while supporting their well-being and welfare making Business Advisory an exciting and rewarding place to be.Role accountabilities:Develop, grow, and lead the Business Advisory service line in Capital Programmes, including setting objectives and managing performance, to ensure that the team has the resources and capability to achieve the business plan.Work with senior colleagues across the Arcadis business to refresh and reinforce our value propositions for supporting clients to achieve value, on time and budget, across their full capital programme lifecycles.Establish and agree key performance targets and financial budgets for the service line in order to optimise business performance in line with set objectives.Lead key relationships with clients, and monitor account performance including taking appropriate action to ensure that client expectations and Arcadis’ commercial objectives are met or exceeded.Lead teams to shape and win complex bids that can be delivered profitably and that respond to identified client issues.Lead the delivery of large, complex consulting commissions, ensuring client satisfaction, effective project management and good communication and collaboration between Arcadis colleagues.Support the continuous improvement of existing Arcadis propositions in Capital Programmes, including as a subject matter expert.  Further enhance their attractiveness to clients and delivery efficiency, and hence business performance.Bring trusted-advisor relationships with Board and executive-level client representatives, and use these to develop and land integrated and innovative propositions that meet client and market needs. Consistently lead teams in an inspiring and motivating manner, which embodies Arcadis Leadership principles, including the attraction and development of diverse pools of talent.Act as a key member of the global leadership team for the Capital Programme, Procurement and Supply Chain practice, including collaboration with teams based outside of the UK, and a key role in growing the Arcadis brand in this field. Dimensions of the job:Financial Accountability: Compliance to Arcadis internal processes and business performance targetsSales Target: expected to personally lead 1-2m of fee generation from identification of sales opportunity, plus bid management, supporting the Business Advisory group deliver and/or exceed planned revenue and ebitda. Business Area Accountability: Typically carries out at least 2 organising to win roles such as accountability for commissions, specific clients, and/or community roles.Management / Leadership Responsibilities: Directly manages 5-6 people Level 9 or below. Leads growth in team with an ambition of headcount of 40+ by end 2024, and revenue in excess of 6m pa.Utilisation:  As determined by specific Organising to Win roleQualifications & Experience:A lead expert within the Capital Programmes discipline, including extensive senior delivery and/or consulting experience, for large and complex capital programmes and portfolios.  Further expertise in a relevant business sector would also be attractive.Experience of managing business relationships up to board level.Directly influence client behaviours and investment decisions, dealing effectively with high risk, high value executive client situations.Recognised by major (current or potential) clients as a Capital Programmes subject matter expert.  Brings a relevant network of economic buyers within clients (UK and/or global).Conversant in the client challenges addressed by Arcadis value propositions, with the ability to bring relevant global expertise to clients.Ability to generate cross-sales from across Arcadis, through relationships with senior colleagues.Bachelors/Masters degree or equivalent, in a relevant disciplineRecognised external accreditation/qualification aligned to BA Capability/service line expertise (e.g., MCIPS, MCA, RICS, APM and/or relevant engineering professional institution.)  Why Become an Arcadian?
