Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a Land Manager on a permanent basis, located in East Midlands. Role Summary This is a largely self-sufficient role, with the ability to source land opportunities and drive each deal through from Terms Agreed to Land Completion due to a broad understanding of the legal, planning, development and commercial constraints and opportunities of any proposal. * Represent and promote the business unit within the East Midlands property sector. * Develop and maintain regular contact with key land agents/owners within the East Midlands. * Identify suitable immediate land opportunities, on and off market. * Source longer-term land with planning potential and liaise with the Strategic Land Team accordingly. * Present to landowners and agents on a formal and informal basis. * Negotiate legal agreements with client lawyers and third parties. * Procure and review technical, legal and development information during bid preparation process. * Present bid proposals to Regional Board in advance of submitting offers. * Prepare and submit Land Approval Packs and obtain authority to acquire sites in line with Company policies and protocols. * Manage the offer process and provide support to the Land Director and Managing Director. * Offer on a minimum of 15 sites per annum. * Acquire land in accordance with annual Land Strategy priorities and focus areas Skills Behave in line with our company values – Integrity, Caring and Quality Educated to a minimum of Degree standard (on a relevant course) or with suitable alternative experience Computer literate and able to use Excel, Word, and PowerPoint to a good standard Track record of successfully acquiring residential land within the East Midlands Experience negotiating and managing through to completion complex, multi-party legal agreements Experience of working in a PLC housebuilder Excellent communication skills and a professional manner, commensurate with delivering business development and promoting the Company Highly literate able to understand and interpret complex legal documentation Highly numerate with the ability to undertake residual valuations for land appraisals, undertake comparable sales valuations and provided sensitivity analysis A good understanding of legal obligations Proven list of contacts in the area In-depth knowledge and understanding of Local Planning Authorities in East Midlands In depth understanding of budget management Excellent negotiation and networking skills A pragmatic approach to problem solving A methodical approach to working practices A self-starter capable of creating and maintaining momentum in projects Decision making/problem solving/multi-tasking Able to work accurately under pressure to meet deadlines Can influence and persuade others Willing to work extra to meet deadlines, as and when the business needs require it Benefits * Competitive salary * Very generous holiday allowance * Car allowance.
