Job Description:


Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Energy Associate to join our Investment Banking team at Jefferies. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our Energy sector clients by conducting industry research, financial analysis, and preparing detailed financial models and presentations. This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic individual to gain significant exposure to the energy sector and investment banking.


Key Responsibilities:


Industry Research: Conduct thorough research on the energy sector, including across the oil & gas value chain and energy transition. Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and market dynamics.


  • Financial Analysis: Perform detailed financial analysis, including valuation, financial modeling, and sensitivity analysis for energy sector companies.
  • Transaction Support: Assist in the execution of various investment banking transactions, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), capital raising, and advisory services.
  • Presentation Preparation: Develop high-quality presentations and pitch materials for client meetings and internal discussions.
  • Due Diligence: Support due diligence efforts by gathering and analyzing relevant data, coordinating with clients, and assisting in the preparation of due diligence reports.
  • Client Interaction: Participate in client meetings and calls, providing analytical support and presenting findings and recommendations.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with senior and junior bankers and cross-functional teams to deliver comprehensive solutions to clients.


Qualifications:


  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (CFA, MBA) are a plus.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in investment banking, consulting, or related financial services, with a focus on the energy sector preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Familiarity with financial databases such as Bloomberg, Capital IQ, and FactSet.
  • Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and market information.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all work products.
  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Initiative: Self-motivated with a proactive approach to work and a willingness to take on additional responsibilities.
