Mechanical design engineer

Holt Executive has partnered with a market-leading design & manufacturing company that works in a variety of industry sectors, including Naval Defence, Maritime & Marine Science & Technology. The business requires a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team and assist in developing the next generation of innovative and technologically advanced instruments and systems for exciting and challenging applications. Key Responsibilities for the Mechanical Design Engineer: Design scientific instrumentation from concept to final product. Create and maintain engineering documentation. Provide support for manufacturing processes. Liaise with customers to address their needs and feedback. Conduct product testing and oversee on-site commissioning. Key Skills & Experience Required by the Mechanical Design Engineer: A deep understanding of mechanics and mechanical principles. Ability to translate theoretical knowledge into a field-ready product that delivers an attractive and user-friendly solution. Experience assisting with design work from concept through to medium-volume manufacture. Proficiency in standard drawing office requirements, including build standard control and change note implementation. Qualifications- A strong understanding of fundamental engineering principles is essential. Applicants should have a degree in Mechanical Engineering (2.1 or higher) from a recognised university and must demonstrate significant design ability and a solid engineering knowledge base. Security Clearance Requirements: Security clearance will be applied for on appointment – UK passport holders require plus proof of residency in UK for last 5 years.
