Are you experienced or open to supporting vulnerable students? Can you commit to a full-time, long-term job? If you answered yes to the above, then this Classroom Mentors role is for you! The Position – Classroom Mentors This Classroom Mentor opportunity is for candidates that are creative, proactive and resiliant! We are looking for x5 Classroom Mentors to supporting secondary aged students with SEMH (Social and emotional mental health). This Classroom Mentor role will be based at their Orpington site SEMH school on a full-time basis working across year groups, 1:1 or with small intervention groups therefore, you MUST be flexible and confident with adapting your support approach to ensure you can be a positive support to students with a mixture of abilities and needs! You will need a real passion for helping vulnerable young people with their learning journeys. You do not need direct SEMH experience however, a background in a relatable field would be ideal e.g. Youth work, outreach, healthcare - Mental health, support / key worker, residential care, coaching, sports, psychology etc. The School – Classroom Mentors This SEMH provision for 7-13 year olds (Key Stages 2 and 3) work hard with students and staff to create a safe and happy learning environment for students with social and emotional mental health! Based in the leafy area of Orpington in the borough of Bromley/ South East London. Their aim is to create an atmosphere of mutual respect and resilience that supports the students to grow into purposeful young adults, so they are able to contribute to society in a positive way. They have close transport links such as an overground station with fast trains into London bridge and across South London as well as local bus routes into SE London and Kent outskirts.
