Are you passionate about hands-on technical work and want to make a difference in the education sector? Oldham College is looking for a skilled Workshop Technician to join our dynamic team.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the setup and maintenance of workshop equipment and facilities, ensuring a safe and productive environment.
  • Support the instructional needs of the department by preparing materials and tools for student projects.
  • Conduct routine checks and repairs on equipment, reporting any issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Collaborate with staff and students to foster a learning-focused atmosphere in the workshop.
  • Promote and adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring compliance with college policies and procedures.
Key Requirements:
  • GCSE in Maths and English at grade C or above (or equivalent).
  • Strong technical aptitude with experience in maintaining and handling workshop tools and equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach, with the ability to communicate effectively with students and staff.
  • Willingness to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends when necessary.
