Large portfolio of customers, form big blue chip companies such as HP and a MOD Contract, with a presence Globally including a huge presence in America.JOB PURPOSEMy client is looking for a proactive, self-motivated, experienced Environmental, Health & Safety Advisor to join the HeadOffice team on a full-time, permanent basis. The primary purpose of this lead role is to take a hands-on approach to environmental, health & safety control, arrangements & documentation.YOU WILL BELeading by example & championing EHS on a day-to-day basisPromoting a safe & healthy work environmentServing as the point of contact for all EHS matters & advising those with delegated EHS responsibilitiesTaking a pragmatic approach to EHS challenges solutionsPreparing, reviewing & updating internal & external EHS policies & documentation in consultation with relevantpersonnel (eg safe operating procedures, risk assessments, work permits)Confidentially coordinating the health surveillance programme, analysing reportsLeading incident investigations in conjunction with responsible personsProducing and owning content for a regular EHS BulletinOverseeing vehicle & driver fleet management, ensuring full complianceAdministering existing safety accreditation, progressing to ISO 14001 & 45001Managing internal & external training, liaising with Line Managers, leading monthly Training Meetings,monitoring qualityOverseeing DSE, PPE & first aid management, consulting on specific concerns, carrying out assessmentsDeveloping and coordinating environmental management systems & arrangementsServing as Chief Fire Marshal, maintaining the fire risk assessment, overseeing fire safety checks, co-ordinating activities of the Fire Marshal Team & leading periodic Fire Marshal MeetingsUndertaking regular premises inspections, supporting department leads with remedial actionsEnsuring the Company meets its statutory requirements as regards environment, health, safety & welfareEnsuring all periodic safety inspections, maintenance & testing is undertaken at appropriate intervals by internal & external providersLeading periodic EHS Committee Meetings, ensuring timely completion of agreed actionsKeeping up to date with industry and legislative changes and advising Senior Management of how my client needs to comply with new or updated legislation, implementing agreed changes and ensuring complianceMaintaining the central accident book, recording and reporting all incidents, monitoring, investigating and ensuring that appropriate remedial action is taken in all casesMay be required to complete other business activities on behalf of the Company from time to time in line with skills, competencies and experienceJOB DESCRIPTIONNEBOSH General Certificate essential / NEBOSH National Diploma preferred (or equivalents)Experience in a manufacturing, semiconductor, engineering or warehousing environment preferredExceptional organisational skills with very high attention to detail & strict confidentialityAbility to multi-task, anticipate and respond effectively to changing prioritiesFlexible, conscientious attitude to workHigh standard of written & verbal communication, with a confident & professional phone mannerStrong interpersonal skillsComfortable working autonomouslyIT literate, with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word & OutlookSpecial Working ConditionsAdditional hours, including weekend availability (on call), may be necessary from time to time when required to suit business needs.SALARY & BENEFITSSalary / Rate £37k - £45k (DOE)Basic Hours Monday to Friday, 0900-1700hrsFree on-site parking at Head OfficeIncreased annual leave by service lengthPrivate Medical Insurance by service lengthLife assurance schemeEmployee Assistance ProgrammeStructured career developmentRegular company eventsFree on-site gym at Head OfficePlease call Michelle 07939 949833 for more details and please apply to this advert to arrange a call
