Job Title: HGV Technician Location: Taunton Shift: Day Shift Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join our team in Taunton on a full-time day shift. With a competitive salary of up to £40,000, this role is perfect for a qualified technician who is committed to delivering high-quality maintenance and repair for heavy goods vehicles. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnostics, repair, and preventative maintenance, helping ensure our fleet operates safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities: Diagnostics and Repair: Perform accurate diagnostics and repairs on HGVs, addressing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems as needed. Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance and inspections to increase vehicle reliability and reduce the risk of breakdowns. Safety and Compliance: Carry out safety inspections to ensure all vehicles meet regulatory standards and are in compliance with DVSA requirements. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of all repairs, services, and inspections according to company policies and regulatory standards. Parts Management: Identify and replace faulty parts, collaborating with the parts team to ensure the availability of essential components.Qualifications and Skills: Experience: Previous experience as an HGV Technician or similar role, with expertise in heavy vehicle systems and repairs. Certification: NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent qualification preferred. Technical Skills: Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and a strong understanding of HGV mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Health & Safety Compliance: Knowledge of health and safety practices and a commitment to maintaining a safe workplace.
