THE COMPANY Brand Energy & Infrastructure Services provide scaffolding services and access equipment, coating and painting, cleaning, insulation and fireproofing services to some of the UK’s largest industrial and energy clients. Offering a hands-on, ‘can-do’, technical approach to all projects – from the simplest, to the most complex and high profile multi-product projects. THE ROLE We are actively searching for a competent SHEQ Advisor based on-site of Essar Stanlow Refinery in Ellesmere Port. JOB PURPOSE * Support with high standards of SHEQ on-site and set a personal example to employees and the Client. * Monitor activities and produce reports based on this which reflect the standards being delivered, to inform both the SHEQ Director and Operational Management to take action should the standards not be met * Motivate the Operational teams into continuous improvement in all aspects of SHEQ. * Advise the business on any relevant policies, statutory regulations, approved codes of practice and guidance notes which may impact the business activities. KEY RESULTS AREA * To advise and support colleagues and clients on the promotion of health, safety, and well-being at work for the benefit of all. * To keep up to date with changes in safety, health, and environmental legislation, advising management and colleagues on how to adhere to safe working practices and how to keep the regions compliant to safety, health, and environmental law. * To monitor adherence to corporate and statutory safe working practices and advising on the implementation of remedial actions as appropriate. * To help promote the regions as being professionally competent to deliver both safe service and safe products to boost business acquisition and retention. * To deliver information/training on critical SHEQ topics. * To conduct investigations into all major accidents and incidents, advising operational management of recommendations to prevent recurrence. * Monitor SHEQ performance and report to senior management on a regular basis. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Understand the Company’s policies and procedures and all relevant statutory regulations, approved codes of practice and guidance notes relevant to the division. * Carry out site audits to ensure compliance with company procedure and statutory requirements and that high standards are being maintained * Work closely with site teams to develop corrective action plans where standards fall below the expected level. * Support operational teams and advise on matters of SHEQ with a practical approach. * Encourage participation in the Company’s 5 pillars of safety. * Build and maintain positive relationships by engaging with customer representatives during site visits, including SHEQ professionals employed by the customer. * Co-ordinate investigations into accidents, incidents and dangerous occurrences and prepare detailed reports, identifying suitable corrective actions to avoid reoccurrence. * Stop work in circumstances where it is believed that there is a likelihood of danger of potential danger to life. * Advise on training needs for all colleagues and support the teams to develop a programme to overcome any shortfalls QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE / PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES * NEBOSH qualified * SHEQ experience working with scaffolding teams within industrial/energy related sites. * Strong interpersonal and influencing skills. * Effective in communication such as writing reports, listening when conducting accident investigations and presenting when leading training courses. * Diplomatic yet assertive in dealing with issues as they arise. * Able to produce and deliver training. * Must hold a valid and current driving licence with own transport.
