CNC Machinist Required at Classic Car Specialist in Liss, Hampshire Location: Liss, Hampshire Salary: £36k - £40k DOE  Hours of Work: 38.75 hours per week - no weekendsOur client, an international racing, classic, and motorsport automotive specialist, who have been a pillar of the automotive community for over 20 successful years and counting. Operating from a bespoke site in Liss for the past eight years, the business excels in three key areas: Parts manufacturing and supply (boasting the world’s largest stock holding of specialist classic car parts) Workshop services specialising in servicing, restoring, and rally preparation Classic / Vintage / Historic Vehicle sales and sourcingThey are currently seeking an experienced Automotive CNC Machinist to join their production team! The CNC Machinist plays a critical role in the production of high-precision components used in automotive restoration, maintenance, and customisation. Their expertise ensures that each part meets exacting standards, contributing to the overall quality and performance of the vehicles. Within this CNC Machinist Role your typical duties will include: Program, set, and operate a Haas CNC 4-axis turning centre Set existing programs as provided by the production engineering facility Create and validate new programs under guidanceKey Responsibilities as a CNC Machinist: Operate CNC Machinery: Set up and operate a Haas CNC 4-axis turning centre with driven tooling, producing both simple and complex components in short batches to precise tolerances. Quality Assurance: Inspect work at the machine, approve initial pieces, and ensure consistent quality throughout the batch. Communicate any issues promptly to maintain high standards. Program Creation and Maintenance: Develop and validate programs using Haas NextGen control. Identify tooling requirements and manage maintenance and calibration issues effectively. Versatile Machinery Operation: Operate additional production machinery as needed, with training and guidance provided for optimal performance. Manual Machinery Use: Utilise manual machinery for secondary operations or fixturing as required, ensuring flexibility in production tasks. Workplace Safety: Maintain a clean and safe working environment, strictly adhering to Health and Safety regulations and promoting safe working practices. General Workshop Duties: Perform various workshop tasks, including unloading, storing, and cutting materials, as well as deburring and hand finishing components when necessary. Team Collaboration: Work closely with the team to determine and prioritise manufacturing tasks and production schedules, ensuring efficient workflow. Record Keeping: Accurately complete all necessary production control records, including timesheets and inspection reports, to ensure proper documentation and traceability..)Experience and Skills Required our client is looking for in their CNC Machinists: CNC programming, setting, and operator experience Strong organisational and prioritisation skills Proactive attitude with the ability to take initiative and ownership of issues Solidworks software experienceAutomotive experience our client is looking for in their CNC Machinist: Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role If you are a skilled CNC Machinist with a passion for precision engineering and classic cars, we would love to hear from you.
