Job Description: AWS Technical ArchitectLocation: London (Complete Onsite Work)Employment Type: 6-Month ContractDaily Rate: £500 per dayProject: AWS MigrationExperience Required: 10+ yearsDomain: BankingWe are seeking a skilled AWS Data Architect with extensive experience in Java Development, Spring Boot, and Microservices for a critical migration project within the banking domain. The individual must be passionate about technology and adept at developing and managing advanced technology applications.Key Responsibilities:Architect and lead the migration of data and applications to AWS, ensuring seamless integration and performance.Develop microservices using Java and Spring Boot to support the migration and data handling processes.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable, cloud-native solutions.Lead the creation of Physical Data Models (PDMs) and Logical Data Models (LDMs) and develop Entity-Relationship (ER) diagrams.Oversee the design and implementation of robust data pipelines using AWS services and modern tools.Work with relational and NoSQL databases to ensure smooth data management and migration.Manage version control, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and monitoring setups.Technical Skills Required:Java Development: Proficiency in Java (latest versions, e.g., Java 17) is mandatory for this role, especially for developing microservices.Spring Boot & Spring Framework: Expertise in Spring Boot (version 2.5+) and Spring Framework (version 5+) for server-side application development.Microservices Architecture: Strong experience in building and managing microservices to facilitate modular application development.Data Architecture:In-depth knowledge of data decomposition, entity creation, normalization, and designing Entity-Relationship (ER) diagrams.Experience with Polymorphic Data Types and Abstract Data Types (ADTs).Proficiency in Physical Data Models (PDMs) and Logical Data Models (LDMs).AWS Services:Extensive experience with AWS Database Migration Service (DMS).Proficiency with AWS Schema Conversion Tool (SCT) and familiarity with AWS services like AWS RDS, AWS Redshift, and AWS Glue.Databases:Relational databases: Expertise in MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle.NoSQL databases: Experience with DynamoDB and MongoDB.NewSQL databases: Familiarity with CockroachDB or Google Spanner.IBM DB2 experience is a plus.Data Migration: Expertise in using data migration testing tools and methodologies to ensure data integrity during migrations.Additional Tools:Version Control Systems: Git.CI/CD Tools: Jenkins, GitLab.Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes.Monitoring and Logging: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana).Soft Skills:Strong problem-solving abilities.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Ability to work in an agile and fast-paced environment.This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a high-impact AWS migration project while working closely with a talented team of engineers and stakeholders.
