Canteen Operative

Canteen Operative Our client based in Newcastle-Under-Lyme is looking for a Canteen Operative to join their team in ongoing positions with a view to becoming permanent following a successful trial period. Duties will include selling hot meals and pre packaged food to the staff on site, handling cash,helping with preparing daily meals and general housekeeping of the canteen area. As a Canteen Operative you will need to have: Good communication skills Fluent in English Previous experience in Catering/Canteen environment is required Motivated Flexible approach Reliable Good numeracy skills Accuracy and attention to detail Details: Salary: £12.50 Working Hours will vary day to day between 07:00am and 20:00pm Location: Newcastle-Under-Lyme, ST5 9QG Duration: Ongoing Accountabilities and Responsibilities: Prepare food items ensuring all recipes and portion sizes are adhered to Assist the Chef Manager in preparation of main meals and other hot items Assist with the preparation of special event food and buffets as required Prepare the counter for food service period in line with company standards Operate the cash till and ensure that all procedures are followed and all transactions recorded Check floats for tills and vending machines as requested Complete all sales control documentation for each service Assist with completion of wastage sheets Ensure that all food prepared and served is labelled correctly Prepare food in line with current Food Hygiene and Health & Safety procedures Undertake cleaning duties as designated by the cleaning roster Comply with any signing/Clocking in and out procedures To attend all company training sessions held on site Ensuring the vending is fully stocked throughout the shift Benefits of a Canteen Operative: Regular overtime opportunities Permanent employment opportunities 25% Discount Vouchers valid in all stores of the company Free parking Refurbished on-site canteen Free hot & cold drinks Staff Sales 28 Holidays per year Weekly Pay Pension Scheme Mortgage references My Extra Rewards- An online portal offering vouchers and discounts If you are interested in the above role please click apply If you are looking to contact our onsite team, please visit the site locator on our website.
