A growing business is looking for a Linux Systems Administrator to ensure the efficient running of all servers, software and network infrastructure, whilst undertaking PC support and providing cover for Windows Systems Administration. Along with a starting salary of up to £40,000 per annum, you will also receive hybrid working, 10% additional monthly pay after probation (backdated to start date), 25 days holiday rising to 28 with service, a pension scheme, gym membership, mental health support, private medical insurance, life cover plus other discounts/services! What youll do as Linux Systems Administrator: Ensure Linux servers run optimally, working proactively to pre-empt any problems.Ensure Linux software is installed and running correctly.Ensure network infrastructure is running correctly, and updated to the appropriate firmware.Ensure data is backed up according to agreed schedules.Ensure Remote Access systems (e.g. Rustdesk VPN) are available, and support remote usersPerform administrator tasks for external systems as required.Maintain printing systems.Monitor, maintain and supervise network performance.Diagnose and fix any incidents submitted to the IT systemAssist with major incident handling as requiredSupport users in the use of computer equipment and MS Office applicationsMaintain the availability and efficient running of the telephone system.Document support procedures and system configurationsProvide user support through the service deskMaximise the availability of desktop and network-based applications and infrastructureKeep abreast of security updates, and ensure that all systems are appropriately patchedDiagnose system errors, and recognise which ones will need involvement from programmersAssume responsibility for recommending equipment purchase.Install new IT equipment, e.g. servers, PCs, printers etc Were looking for a Linux Systems Administrator with: Proven experience of Linux System AdministrationFamiliarity with Windows System AdministrationProven experience of network supportAbility to use system monitoring toolsExperience of using network printers is desirable.Good networking capabilities, i.e. TCP/IP, is desirable.Ability to work with minimal supervision to tight deadlinesStrong communication skillsExperienced team player with flexible approachProven experience in troubleshooting to rapidly resolve technical problems To apply for this role as Systems Administrator, please click apply online and upload an updated copy of your CV.Candidate Source Ltd is an advertising agency.
