Job Description

Wanted: A bright, committed and enthusiastic account manager to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of projects and develop lasting relationships with our clients.

Curious and collaborative, we’re here to start conversations, encourage connections and help brands – and people – feel good about themselves. We need a dynamic account manager to work directly with our clients and help shape the future of Hudson Fuggle.

A clear and confident communicator, you’ll oversee an exciting portfolio of destination marketing and higher education accounts. You’ll be comfortable with a hands-on, client-facing role and enjoy building successful relationships both internally and externally. Calm under pressure, you’ll be a strong team player– able to take direction and collaborate, but also work on your own initiative.

Key responsibilities

While no two days are the same at Hudson Fuggle, our account manager’s key areas of focus include:

  • Liaising with clients to ensure the smooth running of projects, campaigns and accounts
  • Taking detailed briefs from clients – managing expectations, while also identifying opportunities to build on their ideas
  • Working with the directors and studio manager to produce accurate estimates and production schedules through to client sign off
  • In collaboration with the directors, briefing client projects into the studio and ensuring that work is delivered to deadline, budget and client satisfaction
  • Attending regular work-in-progress meetings, both internal and external, and completing accurate contact reports
  • Working with the studio manager and directors to ensure that completed work is billed on time
  • Hosting post-project reviews with both the client and the studio
  • Proactively seeking out opportunities to win new or repeat business and referrals from the accounts you manage
  • Supporting the directors in producing and, where appropriate, presenting pitches and tenders
  • Attending client and business development events as required
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date client records on our CRM system, Synergist
  • Any other reasonable duties as required by the directors.

What we’re looking for

Someone who has been working in a similar role for at least three years and is now looking to step up to the next level. Our ideal candidate is:

  • A strong team player – able to take direction and collaborate, but also work on their own initiative
  • An active listener – able to capture client briefs and feedback, and then accurately communicate them to the wider team
  • A natural communicator – with exceptional written and spoken English
  • Meticulous – with a keen eye for detail, applying the same level of professionalism to every job
  • Organised – able to multitask and prioritise to meet competing deadlines
  • Practical – with a knack for fuss-free problem solving
  • Flexible – able to work in a smart and focused way, but also be open to change
  • Hands-on – willing to get stuck into the wide range of tasks involved in this role
  • Confident – able to build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, clients and wider stakeholders
  • Reliable and trustworthy – able to represent the directors and Hudson Fuggle in meetings with clients and stakeholders
  • Approachable, diplomatic and enthusiastic.

Experienced in using Mac-based software packages and office management systems, you will have:

  • At least three years’ experience in a similar role in a creative agency or studio
  • A track record of managing and growing client accounts, projects and relationships
  • Proven experience of generating new business from existing clients
  • Experience in using CRM systems to manage accounts and relationships
  • Familiarity with project management tools like Trello, Slack and Basecamp
  • A working knowledge of Google Docs, Sheets and Slides
  • An awareness of InDesign and social media platforms

What we can offer you

  • A friendly, social and supportive working environment
  • A competitive salary (c. £35k per annum dependent on experience)
  • A workplace pension
  • 31 days’ annual leave (including the eight UK public holidays)
  • Additional paid holiday for the days between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day when the studio is closed
  • A commitment to training and continuing professional development
  • Monthly team outings and social events
  • Monday morning team breakfasts.
