Job Title: Project Manager (Pre-Construction/Development) - EV Charging Projects

Location: London, England, United Kingdom

Hybrid - London


Overview:

My EV charging client is seeking a highly competent Project Manager to oversee Electric Vehicle (EV) charging projects at key account sites, such as pubs, hotels, leisure parks, retail parks, and many other businesses from project inception to completion. The successful candidate will own the pre-construction development activities for projects, including concept design, local planning permissions and client approvals.


Responsibilities:

Project Management:

  • Own the pre-construction development activities for projects, including concept design, local planning permissions and client approvals.
  • Own the commercial aspects, model business cases, and seek approvals from senior management and investors when necessary.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Lead engagement with key account stakeholders relevant to the projects.
  • Manage and negotiate with a diverse range of stakeholders with varying motivations.

Commercial Ownership:

  • Model and own the business case for projects.
  • Seek approvals from senior management and investors as required.

Coordination with Operations and Supply Chain:

  • Collaborate with the operations team and external supply chain to ensure timely, budget-conscious, and high-quality installation works.

Progress Tracking and Reporting:

  • Monitor project progress and provide regular reports to programme managers.
  • Knowledge of RIBA Stages.

DNO and Planning Applications:

  • Coordinate Distribution Network Operator (DNO) and planning applications with the supply chain and consultants.


Knowledge & Skills:

  • Experience within EV Charging, as Telco or as a Civils contractor
  • Diligent project manager with a willingness to lead complex projects and make decisions.
  • Technical knowledge of DNOs, ICPs, and iDNOs.
  • Experience in construction projects and familiarity with the UK planning system are beneficial.
  • Awareness of the implementation of CDM regulations.
  • Proficient in the full suite of Microsoft Office programmes.
