Position: Fire Door Carpenter Location: South East UK (Kent to South East London) Salary: £43,000 per annum Employment Type: Permanent Working Hours: Full-time Benefits: Weekly pay, mileage coverage, tools and uniform provided About the Role We are seeking skilled and experienced Fire Door Carpenters to join our team operating across the South East of the UK, covering areas from Kent to East Sussex. This is a permanent position offering a competitive salary and weekly pay. As a Fire Door Carpenter, you will be responsible for the installation of fire doors in various settings, ensuring compliance with all relevant safety standards and regulations. Key Responsibilities * Installation of Fire Doors: Accurately install fire doors according to manufacturer specifications and legal requirements, ensuring they meet the necessary fire safety standards. * Site Assessment and Preparation: Conduct thorough site assessments to plan and prepare for door installation, including any necessary adjustments to existing structures. * Team Collaboration: Work as part of a two-person team, with each fitter responsible for the installation of one door per assignment. Collaborate effectively to ensure projects are completed efficiently and safely. * Quality Assurance: Perform quality checks on installed doors to verify functionality, alignment, and compliance with fire safety regulations. * Customer Interaction: Engage professionally with clients and site managers, addressing any questions or concerns regarding the installation process. * Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of work completed, including materials used and time spent on each project. * Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself, your team, and the clients. Qualifications and Experience * Proven experience in carpentry, specifically in the installation of fire doors. * In-depth knowledge of fire door regulations and standards (e.g., BS 8214, Building Regulations Part B). * Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. * Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. * Excellent communication and customer service skills. * Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the designated area (Kent to East Sussex).
